The Pont de Sèvres district, built in the 1970s, has been undergoing renewal since July 2008, the date marking the signing of the agreement between the city of Boulogne-Billancourt and ANRU (French national agency for urban renewal) and a number of participating partners, for an investment of 120 million Euros. For the 5,000 Boulonnais living there, closely involved in the initiative thanks to the constant follow up, a new future is on the horizon with a series of totally committed projects and achievements.
AN OPEN DISTRICT, HIGH-QUALITY PUBLIC SPACES
Opening up the district, La Montée and the Constant-Lemaître walkway offer new easy and pleasant to use pedestrian routes leading to the Pont de Sèvres underground station and the Trapèze district. Thus, the pedestrian walkway gives easy access to the Billancourt Park, Ile Seguin Garden and the new Girafe nursery, opened in March 2012 at the foot of the Horizons tower. At the far end of the walkway, the Place-jardin Georges Besse was created in early April 2012. It is already possible for visitors to seek out the sun here in total peace and quiet.
The Mail des Provinces, with its 6000 m2 of walking paths, green spaces and games for children, is a congenial, peaceful area. It was opened to the public in summer 2012 and forms an integral part of the green space network being developed to link one district to the next, together with the Billancourt Park and Ile Seguin Garden. The Passage des Renault offers a new pedestrian pathway between the lower level Forum and the Place Joseph Frantz, giving direct access to the Cours de l'Ile Seguin. The renovation of the upper level Forum has begun and will be completed by summer 2013.
REHABILITATION OF THE PARIS HABITAT HOUSING UNITS AND RECONFIGURATION OF CAR PARKS
The project sets out to reorganise the car park under the esplanade and in particular to create a large public car park for around 800 cars. The parking areas, the common parts and the housing units in the four buildings owned by Paris Habitat-OPH are the subject matter of a total renovation programme focused on improving electrical performance and comfort for residents (electricity, plumbing, façade cleaning, woodwork replacement, foyer renovation, roof-top deck plant-overs, etc.).
REVITALISED BUSINESS AND AMENITIES
The existing shopping concourse will be updated and extended towards the Trapèze to create a shopping pedestrian link between the new district and the dynamic businesses on the RN 10 via the Pont de Sèvres district. Public and associative amenities will also be improved and reorganised around the Mail des Provinces to make them more user-friendly. In 2013, the sports facilities at the Espace Forum will be open to local residents.
