A dynamic, user-friendly setting
A district giving onto the Seine and the hillside slopes of Sèvres and Meudon, the Trapèze is designed as a diversified, living area that will eventually have more than 12,000 inhabitants and 12,000 employees. The project’s architectural and environmental ambitions, the balance between private and social housing units, offices, green areas, shops and amenities, close to Ile Seguin and in tune with its vast cultural remit, will help to create an exceptional community to the immediate west .
A DISTRICT BUILT AROUND GENEROUS PUBLIC SPACES
The Trapèze is organised according to a grid configuration comprising high-quality public spaces. A 7-hectare park, parallel to the Seine, two large planted areas and a network of landscaped walkways, help to further enrich the city’s green areas. Nature and water are everywhere to be seen, especially in the west of the Billancourt park, and already offer visitors 3 hectares dedicated to walks and relaxation.
TRAPÈZE WEST, A RESOUNDING SUCCESS
Opposite Ile Seguin, the new Trapèze district already numbers around 4,000 working people and 5,000 inhabitants. It offers 4 public amenities (two nurseries, a school group and a multi-media library). Seventeen shops have set up in the area, including a baker’s, a mini supermarket, a hairdresser’s and several café-restaurants.
TRAPÈZE EAST… WORK IN PROGRESS
The second phase of the Trapèze, the East section, is in progress and already well advanced. It shares the same ambitions and values as in the west, as well as stringent requirements, especially in terms of sustainable development. The joint development programme is focused on 280,000 m2, combining private housing and subsidised homes, offices and activities, businesses and public amenities. The first worksites commenced in January 2012. Completion is scheduled for 2016.
KEY FACTS FOR THE TRAPEZE
The complete Trapèze project (West and East) covers 662,000 m2, divided between housing (352,300 m2), offices (223,100 m2), activities, businesses and public amenities (86,600 m2).
In concrete terms, these facts and figures ultimately represent:
- 5,000 housing units, including 1/3 for social housing and 1,200 private ;
- 12,000 ;
- over 70 ground floor retail ;
- 14 public amenities (36,840 m2).
